ARNOUD
VAN DEN BERG

GYPSY JAZZ BASS PLAYER

About arnoud

Arnoud van den Berg is one of the most experienced and well-respected bass players in gypsy jazz. He has been a member of the Robin Nolan Trio since 2007 and accompanied the one and only Jimmy Rosenberg for several years.

Originally inspired by Paul McCartney, Arnoud started with blues and rock on electric bass before switching to the upright. After studying jazz at the Amsterdam Conservatory, he worked with Dutch greats such as Benjamin Herman and Anton Goudsmit.

Arnoud began playing gypsy jazz at the turn of the century. Since then, he’s been touring and recording with some of the finest players in the genre: Stochelo Rosenberg, Mozes Rosenberg, Robin Nolan and Paulus Schäfer.

Arnoud co-produces the international gypsy jazz festival Django Amsterdam, and he has published several online gypsy jazz bass instructional courses on Soundslice.
